Aircards have teamed up with the innovation team at Stanley Black & Decker to create an engaging Proof-of-Concept company business card in Augmented Reality.
This app-less Augmented Reality business card for SBD was built using WebAR, meaning simply that the user does not have to download an app to view the experience. Viewable with any standard iOS or Android device camera. Developed by Aircards using the 8th Wall platform, hosted on AWS and in collaboration with Stanley Black & Decker. Inspired by a long history of innovation at Stanley Black & Decker, the AR experience featured a retro wooden ruler which was modelled & animated in 3D by the Aircards team, with outstanding photorealistic detail. This created an engaging comparison between technology from the past and technology from the present (AR).
Alongside the 3D animation, the AR business card also features a number of live click-throughs to relevant contact information, such as phone number, email and LinkedIn profile as well as a clear Call-to-Action to their website to learn more about Stanley Black & Decker.
Web-based Augmented Reality has the capacity to shake-up the world of standard, static print marketing, engaging consumers on a more personal level and offering a more seamless, digital approach to sharing information.
